Welcome to our practice. All of us at Granbury Eye dinlc want to make your visit as
comfortable and easy as possible, so please review this information so that you know what to expect:
First visits usually take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We will dilate your eyes at this visit. Since this may blur your vision, it is best that you arrange for someone to drive you home.
We will have a few forms for you to fill out in order to gain important Information about your vision, eye health, and your past medical history. Although this paperwork is time-consuming, this helps the doctor to better treat you.
We also need to know about any and all insurance policies you have prior to your visit so that we can confirm your coverage and benefits ahead of time. Please be sure to tell us about any separate vision plans you may have prior to your visit as they may require that we preauthorize your visit In order to consider payment. Our computer system files claims electronically immediately after the doctor signs off on your chart, therefore It Is vital that we get all insurance information entered correctly before your visit. All Co-payments, deductibles and co-insurance are due at the time of service. Finally, please understand that any information we get from your Insurance regarding out of pocket costs are only an estimate and are subject to change once your insurance company actually processes your claim.
We always appreciate your feedback about your visit to our office and appreciate the
opportunity to congratulate our staff on a job well done or make improvements as needed.
Welcome to our family!
Once you've completed the check-In process, one of our technicians will take you Into an
exam room and get a full medical history from you.
The technician will perform several preliminary tests such as visual acuity check, pressure
check, and refraction. All of these tests are necessary to determine the health of your eyes.
Your eyes will then be dilated. This takes at least 20 minutes to get a full affect. During this
time you may sit in our dilating room, or feel free to browse in our optical shop and pick out
your new glasses.
You will then be taken to see the doctor, at which time, she will examine your eyes and may
perform additional tests based on that examination. She will then discuss your diagnosis and
all treatment options with you.
This thorough workup takes time. This Is why your visit may take up to two hours.
